Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve

Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve

Any tensions simply melt away after a day exploring with a soak in these natural mineral pools surrounded by native bush. The natural hot water springs at Hanmer Springs were discovered over 100 years ago and visitors have been soaking in the therapeutic waters ever since.  With many different pools for you to relax and unwind in within a natural setting, Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve is a great place to visit after a day of adventure.

There are four large Rock Pools in the Reserve.  All of these are outdoors surrounded by native landscapes.  The temperature is regulated to 38 degrees and the water is treated slightly so that it is not unpleasant to bathe in.  The Rainbow Pool is between 36 and 37 degrees and has thermal spouts for you to relax your shoulders under.  The three Sulphur Pools are totally natural with a temperature of between 40 to 42 degrees. The water in these pools has a silky soft feel to it, amazing after a day of exploring the local area.

The three large Hexagonal Pools are constructed of concrete and are very popular with visitors, with a temperature between 38 and 40 degrees.  As well as these thermal pools, there is also a children’s area with heated waterslides, animal slides and waterfalls for youngsters, a picnic area and Garden House Café which has bar facilities.
