Bottle Museum, Pattaya

Bottle Museum, Pattaya

The Bottle Art Museum is a quirky attraction displaying painstakingly constructed models of boats, houses and famous landmarks from all over the world. Here you will see scale models of windmills from Holland, ornate Japanese pagodas and more than a few boats from pretty much everywhere! Originally started by a Dutch expat bottle art enthusiast, the Bottle Art Museum has since outgrown its premises and been passed on to a new owner who moved the exhibition to its new home on Sukhumvit Road, in the grounds of Kingston Park school and technical college.

The first thing for visitors to do is watch an informative video explaining the basics of bottle art and the necessary steps it takes to create these interesting pieces. After that, you are free to browse the three rooms containing a variety of creations inside different sized bottles. While not exactly jaw-dropping, some of the pieces are impressive and due to its location opposite Mini Siam, it is conveniently located as a second attraction, either before or afterwards.

For those with a love of modeling or even anyone who feels inspired to take up a new hobby, the Bottle Art Museum has weekly art lessons where they teach the basics of bottle art construction. They also have a small gift shop and snack bar as you leave the museum. Overall, the Bottle Art Museum probably won’t be the highlight of your trip to Thailand, but it is an interesting family activity that is just across the road from other attractions and makes a great rainy day activity.
