Bogmalo Beach

Bogmalo in Goa is known for its water sport activities and its scenic beach. Bogmalo has transformed from a quaint fishing village to a tourist hotspot and attracts a large number of visitors.Located about nine km from the port town of Vasco da Gama and four km from Dabolim airport, Bogmalo is an ideal base for exploring the whole state because of its location.

The beach in Bogmalo is the prime attraction. Situated in a small bay, Bogmalo boasts of around a mile of curving sandy beach. Despite the number of tourists that visit Bogmalo, the beach is generally very quiet. Tourists can enjoyr some beautiful sunsets at Bogmalo. The scenic beach, the restaurants that serve scrumptious Goan cuisine and the water sports lure tourists in large numbers.

The beach is also considered to be the cleanest in South Goa. Sunbathing and swimming are the main activities tourists indulge in. Fishing and diving are other attractions of the beach. Water sports activities are the prominent attraction of Bogmalo. Activities like windsurfing, water skiing, ski-jet facilities are available. Dolphin spotting is other popular attraction for the tourists.

While visiting Bogmalo, one should visit Naval Aviation Museum. In the museum one can see the history of the Indian Navy’s aviation wing and its growth since independence.

Other attractions nearby Bogmali are St Jacintos Island. One can see old houses and a chapel on the island. It is in the Mormugao Bay, five km from Bogmalo.
