If you go to Dubai and don’t visit one of its world famous malls, you have not experienced Dubai. The malls in Dubai are more than just a shopping venue. These malls offer indoor artificial snow skiing, aquariums, ice skating, mini indoor theme parks, restaurants and of course the pre-requisite shopping.

Pound for Pound- Dubai Hotels offer better value for money than most other long haul destinations

Beach hotels are also plentiful and world class. Dubai prides itself on being the destination of superlatives, and the hotels live by this mantra. With each new hotel seeking to out-do the previous one, the beneficiary is undoubtedly the tourists that go on holiday to Dubai. Economics do of course plays a role which means that competition has resulted in Dubai holiday prices that are comparable and often cheaper than most other hotels of the same standard at alternate beach destinations across the world.

What else can you do in Dubai

But we digress- is there anything else to do in Dubai apart from shopping and the beach. Well the answer is: Absolutely. Dubai holidays have a lot more to offer than just the beach and shopping. For a start there is the Dubai desert safari. After a few days on your Dubai holiday, a driver will pick you up at your hotel after lunch and take you to the desert where you will commence an exhilarating journey across the sand dunes to a desert camp. Dune Bashing, as it is affectionately known involves driving up and down seemingly dangerous and steep sand dunes is specially designed, and protected 4x4 vehicles. You will have the option of sand skiing on this excursion before heading to the desert camp for a barbeque dinner accompanied by belly dancing, shisha smoking and henna tattoos.

Supercars, yachts, culture and cruise

A dhow dinner cruise along the Dubai creek takes you through the old city and original trading port as you enjoy a sumptuous meal. Dubai also has a number of heritage museums where you can learn about the simple beginning of this desert paradise. Mosque tours will allow you to the learn about the culture and religion of the locals and a balloon flight will take you above the spectacular desert vistas. If you want to experience the life of billionaires, Dubai offers surprisingly affordable supercar rentals, limousines, helicopter rides, private jet flights and private yacht hire. Of course, when we say affordable, we don’t mean Aldi affordable, but rather, affordable in comparison to equivalent offerings at European prices.

Fine dining and fine street food!

Dubai is also the Middle Eastern capital for fine dining and international cuisine. Every brand in the world wants to be in Dubai, and that includes restaurants and celebrity chefs. In fact you will not have to travel far from the beach to find cuisine from almost every nationality and culture on this planet. Travel into old Dubai, and you will find international cuisine at lower than UK fast food prices. This is because Dubai is not just popular with visitors, it is home to a majority ex pat population from across the globe. These, often low paid expats have to eat some were, and outlets catering for them are affordable and authentic and they offer mouth wateringly delicious food.
