Since opening in 1987, Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui has established itself as the leading family owned hotel on the beautiful island of Koh Samui, Thailand. Hidden amongst 25 acres of breathtaking natural beauty and overlooking a sandy bay, the hotel is renowned for its privacy and tranquility, its passionate love for the environment and last but not least, the friendliness and professionalism of its staff.
Choosing a holiday destination and a hotel is one of the biggest decisions most people make each year. Please find below a few pieces of information that may answer a few questions and lead you to propose The Garrya Tongsai Bay Samui:
Our 25 acres of land is totally secluded and therefore you will never hear traffic or noisy neighbours.
Our beach is exclusive to our guests and completely free of beach vendors and motorised water sports.
We offer a freshly cooked breakfast until 10:30 a.m. allowing you to get up at your leisure, take a walk or have a swim before your breakfast.
If your room is not required on the day of your departure, you can keep it until you leave at no charge. If your specific room is required that day and we have another available, we will assign it to you until your departure time, again without charge. If we are completely full, we ask you to check out at midday and use our air-conditioned shower and changing rooms prior to leaving - you are welcome to continue to use all our facilities and your bags will be kept in a secure place.
We offer high speed broadband Wi-Fi services in all rooms and public areas and the use of computers in our internet room – all free of charge.
Our housekeepers will fully service your room twice a day - morning and early evening. We believe in a common sense and fair approach to the use of beach & pool beds which means reserving them is not permitted - we have more than enough for everybody so 'first come, first served'.
We serve chilled purified drinking water in the restaurants, bars and on the beach - free of charge.
All guests receive a welcome drink and a cold towel on arrival. In addition to fresh flowers on the day of arrival all guests receive a turndown “goodies”.
We happily offer honeymoon, birthday, and 'major anniversary' benefits - free of charge. 35% of our guests are returning guests or word of mouth recommendations. Guests returning 6, 8, 10 times are not unusual.
We are located 10 minutes by car from Koh Samui's International Airport (not in the flight path), 10 minutes drive to the islands busiest and biggest town Chaweng Beach, and 10 minutes drive from Koh Samui's famous walking street market, The Fisherman's Village.
Our rigid Green Policy ensures that all our waste is recycled and chemicals and plastic wrappings / bags are forbidden. No trees were damaged in the construction of the hotel 25 years ago and no tree has been cut down since.

Beachfront Suites
Beachfront Suites are located in a 3-storey building aside the main pool. They all enjoy fabulous direct pool and sea views. The ground floor rooms have an oversize indoor bathroom, terraces complete with sun-loungers and have direct gated access to the pool and gardens – wonderful for families with children. The two upper floors all have our signature “bath-with-a-view” on the terrace, sun loungers and a dining/writing table.

Seafront Cottage Suites
The Seafront Cottages have the same design and facilities as Cottage Suites including our signature "bath-with-a-view" and are located along the edge of the cliff overlooking the sea offering spectacular seaviews and privacy.
Cottage Suites
The Cottage Suites stand among coconut trees and tropical gardens on the hillside overlooking the sea. Most are semi-detached with a split-level design of bedroom and living area. To capture the very best seaviews the cottages are all slightly different in shape and arranged on different levels. Each has a private open-air balcony complete with our signature “bath-with-a-view”, 2 sun-loungers and a dining/writing table.
Special Cottage Suites
The McGuigan Cottage
This unique cottage suite has an extra large living area and arguably the finest view of Tongsai Bay itself. On the terrace, in addition to the signature “bath with a view”, a private plunge pool (3.5 x 7 meters) is added along with 2 sun-loungers it has a large dining table and an outside four poster bed complete with mosquito net to experience sleeping under the stars and listening to the sounds of the sea!
The Hideway Cottage
This is another individual and very special Cottage Suite located in splendid isolation from the rest of the resort and offering unsurpassed sea views and privacy. Although our golf carts will take you most of the way, there are quite a few gentle steps to negotiate. On the terrace, in addition to the signature “bath with a view” and 2 sun loungers it has a large dining table and an outside four-poster bed complete with mosquito net to experience sleeping under the stars and listening to the sounds of the sea!
The Viewpoint Family Cottage
This is the ideal family suite and it comes with 2 bedrooms - one with a double bed and the other with 2 twin beds. There are 2 toilets, 2 shower rooms and a bathtub at each end of the L – shaped balcony. It is located at the top of the hill with a few steps to negotiate. However, the spectacular views make up for the extra walk.
Pool Cottage
Set among the Cottage Suites, all 5 Pool Cottage suites offer a private plunge pool (20 sq.m.) surrounded by birds & butterflies alive and free. Split level floor enables the view from the air-conditioned living area as well as from the open air terrace area with an outdoor bathtub. Sun bathe, take a dip under the moonlight or a midnight swim are all possible all in your own time.
Tongsai Grand Villas
The Tongsai Grand Villas are situated high on the hillside to the south of the bay. Each spectacular villa is luxuriously furnished and features a vast open air terrace complete with signature “bath with a view”, 4 poster bed with mosquito net, bar, pantry, dining area and sun loungers. The sea views are far reaching and the sense of privacy and tranquillity is astounding!
Tongsai Pool Villas
The Seafront Pool Villas are located in the middle of the front row of the Tongsai Grand Villas. Each spectacular villa is luxuriously furnished and features a vast open air terrace complete with signature "bath with a view", 4 poster bed with mosquito net, bar, pantry, dining area and sun loungers. The sea views are far reaching and the sense of privacy and tranquillity is astounding! The crowning glory is a private pool - 3.3m x 7.3m with a depth of 1.2m.

The Akorn Villa
The Akorn Villa is named after our founder, and is our largest villa of which more than half comprises an vast open-air terrace. It has two bedrooms – a double and a twin. This villa is luxuriously furnished and features an open air terrace complete with signature “bath with a view”, 4 poster bed with mosquito net, bar, pantry, dining area and sun loungers. To top it all off is a large L shaped private pool around the terrace and spectacular views.
The Nang Gong Villa
Atop the hillside, this is our most exclusive villa and features a vast open air terrace complete with signature “bath with a view”, 4 poster bed with mosquito net, bar, pantry, dining area and sun loungers. It has a large private pool, a private rear garden, and spectacular 360 degree views over both Tongsai Bay and neighbouring Choengmon Beach.
